“But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”” Acts of the Apostles 10:15 NLT
As I read this verse, my mind drifted away from food. (I know the context is about food being unclean and clean according to Jewish law.) But my devotion for today came from this verse in Hebrews, “Then He says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”” Hebrews 10:17 NLT
And as the person doing the devotion continued speaking, she read 2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
Now those three verses connected in my brain. If Jesus calls something clean it is no longer unclean. In fact, He doesn’t remember our uncleanliness (sins) anymore. Because when we belong to Him, we become a new person and our old unclean self is gone and our new life has begun!
Praise You, Jesus, that You have made me clean and new. I don’t have to let my past define me. Please help me to remember that I am new person in You!
Until next time with Jesus’ help let’s be less messy and choose what’s better.
